The Historical Oktoberfest

The first Oktoberfest took place in 1810 when the prince of Bavaria got married. There was a big horse race to honour the couple and 40000 people came to celebrate (the whole population of Munich in that time). It was so nice and successful that it was repeated every year...and so now there is the 200 year anniversary. That's why this year Oktoberfest is a special one because there is a historical part which reminds of the old times (old rides, old style beer tents, a horse race track etc.) This part opened already one day earlier.

Pony riding

There are some old cars and tractors

On the race track was a presentation of horses

Later a little parade came to the race track

The actual race with cold blood horses

In old times there always was an animal exhibit which they do again this year. Here are the horses, but there are also goats, sheep, chickens and, and, and

The "Museum-Tent" had a lot of interesting stuff
